Po River Bridge
The bridge extends for a total length of about 613 m Provincial road (ex S.S. 413 "Romana") in Bagnolo San Vito and San Benedetto Po municipalities, Mantova Province. SGAI S.r.l. devoleped detailed design for the bridge, bring significant improvements to preliminary tender project, in relation of safety, functionality, aesthetics, sustainability and maintainability of construction. Bridge renovation involved the replacing of existing reinforced concrete structure, retaining the same position throught a new structure in weathering steel. The previous structure has a total length of 337.73 m, while the new one is made by two arcs of 180 and 149 m length. Deck width is 22 m. Interventions include reinforce of left side (looking downstream) abutment, realization of two pieres (one in riverbed and one in flood plaid). Was studied launching phases in order to reduct traffic interrumption during works realization. Was created also a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that located in flood plain area of the river, retaining walls (reinforced concrete or bioengineering) in orer to connect new bridge with adjacent pedestrian and bicycle paths; lighting and monitoring installations. Roads design (included signs). Design of protection hydraulic intervetions and hydraulic platform drainage and discharge. In the floodplain area was made a soil development, in order to facilitate installation, structural and launching bridge works. Bridge design included geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical an seismic analysis through survey. Surveys are necessary to collect data in order to have a geomechanic profile.
